Assessing The Stage Of A (BD) Deal

A much smarter man than I taught me and the BD team at Aviary how to assess different stages of a deal.

I thought it would be very useful to share what I learned with the BD community.

20% is that you have identified the right person and made contact.

40% is that you have sent materials and they are evaluating the opportunity.

60% is they have requested a contract and it has been sent.

80% is that the contact is signed and the terms are agreed on.

90% is that you are in midst of integrating.

100% is when the integration is launched and there is press around it.

We are starting to use this method to evaluate the stage of a deal at Aviary.
